Spring: Bluebonnet Bliss

As winter fades away, Texas comes alive with the iconic bluebonnets blanketing the countryside. To capture the essence of spring in Texas:

  • Timing is Key: Keep an eye on local forecasts and bluebonnet bloom reports to plan your shoot when the flowers bloom.

    • Depending on the area you will be visiting, the bloom can occur from late February to the beginning of April.

    • Weather plays a huge factor in bloom timing, make sure to look at long-term forecasts when planning your trip.

    • Ensure you have multiple places in mind for your shoot in the same area. Texas is such a large state and many of the great photo locations can be hours apart.

  • Golden Hour Magic: Take advantage of the soft, warm light during sunrise and sunset for breathtaking bluebonnet portraits and landscapes.

  • Get Low: Experiment with different angles and perspectives by getting down low to the ground to showcase the sea of bluebonnets stretching to the horizon.
